CSP, Inc.’s Annual Chili Cook-Off is one of the exciting events that our employees enjoy.  Our winters here in Raleigh, NC are relatively mild; however, most days have a chill in the air and temperatures can dip into the low 30’s during the first few months of the year.  It is a perfect time for comfort foods, like a hot bowl of delicious homemade chili.

The call for chili cooks went out in early February and employees presented their secret recipes for the cook-off event held on February 17, 2017.  Our CSP Team members were asked to submit creative names for their chili so that the entries would be secret.  We selected five entries: Tried and True Chili, Chili-Chili Bang Bang, Walla Walla Woohoo Chili, Tasty Turkey Chili and Blazing Buffalo Chicken Chili. Cooks must prepare their chili from scratch and submit an ingredients list to be posted on the day of the event.  Everyone is welcomed to taste and cast a vote for their favorite chili.

“The Chili Cook-Off event here at CSP, Inc. is always exciting.  Our team members look forward to tasting, voting and enjoying a great lunch-time event with fellow co-workers”; said, Margie Figueroa, Business Manager.  The winning chili cook will receive a year’s worth of bragging rights and the CSP Chili Pot Trophy will be displayed in their department.

The tasting commenced during the lunch hour and voting ballots were collected.  Everyone enjoyed tasting the various chili entries.  Congratulations to our CSP 2017 Chili Cook-Off winner, Ann Chavez, Administrative Assistant, for her Chili, Chili Bang, Bang entry.  Ann’s chili is a savory mix of three meats; including, ground beef, tri-tip steak, spicy Italian sausages, along with traditional beans and spices.
