CSP, Inc. had the opportunity to provide much needed school supplies to local children through the “Paying-it-Forward” Backpack Buddies Program. Donating school supplies helps ease some of the burdens from families living on a tight budget and gives the children what they need to start the school year off right. Project Manager, Heather Carpenter, was instrumental in coordinating the collections of the donations made by CSP staff members. Each department at CSP volunteered to collect a list of selected school supply items to fill a dozen backpacks for needy families living in Johnston County. The response was overwhelming and several hundred supply items were collected, sorted and distributed.
Heather Carpenter expressed her gratitude stating; “Every day I am more and more amazed at the generosity of the people I work with! Thank you so much for everyone who donated to the Backpack Buddies for the kids of Paying-it-Forward in Johnston County. I cannot begin to imagine what it would be like to not be able to provide for my children and with your help we have 12 kids that will not have to worry about school supplies this year.”
