CSP team members show their commitment to the community by participating in the Raleigh Rescue Mission’s “Groceries to Go” Program. Team members, from five departments; Admin. Team, Sales Team, Rapid Response Team, Systems Engineers and Project/Hardware Teams participated in a food donation challenge. Armed with a list of items provided by the Raleigh Rescue Mission, the competition was off to a great start. Each team donated 1 bag consisting of 11 items and several teams tied with 2 bags each. However, our Project/Hardware Team, donated 4 bags, (44) items winning the challenge with the most bags donated. In total, our CSP Team members donated 121 food items, valued at nearly $250. The food donations will help feed 50 families this Holiday Season.
The Raleigh Rescue Mission provides a bag of groceries for Thanksgiving and on Christmas Eve to families in need. Grocery bags filled with nonperishable food will be delivered along with a hot “Gobbles to Go” meals to help feed Raleigh residents who might otherwise go hungry throughout the holiday weekend.
On Thanksgiving Day, Raleigh Rescue Mission expects to deliver nearly 800 meals to people in need. More than 100 volunteers will gather early Thanksgiving morning to package and deliver hot, delicious Thanksgiving meals. Raleigh Rescue Mission supporters have donated more than 200 turkeys, over 2000 pounds of food to stock the pantry and almost 300 bags of groceries to support the “Gobbles to Go” outreach. Mission volunteers and staff begin preparing holiday food Wednesday, November 23rd to make sure all of the food is ready by Thanksgiving morning. Along with the Thanksgiving meal, volunteers will also deliver a bag of groceries to help continue to feed these families throughout Thanksgiving weekend.
This volunteer project was selected by CSP’s Business Manager, Margie Figueroa to allow our staff members another opportunity to support a local non-profit organization that is making an impact on our community.
