CSP, Inc. staff support the annual WakeMed Foundation’s “Memories for Marcus” Toy drive and fundraiser on December 13, 2017. Each year, this event is held at The Daily Planet Café located within the Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh, NC. Memories for Marcus is dedicated to the memory of Marcus Figueroa, CSP’s Business Manager, Margie Figueroa’s son. Marcus passed away in 2005 due to complications related to Pneumonia.
This fundraiser supports the WakeMed Children’s Hospital, which is the only pediatric inpatient care provider in Wake County. By either making a monetary donation to support the event or bringing in a new, unwrapped toy, participants receive a catered dinner and have an opportunity to bid on wonderful items in the silent auction. Staff members and local agencies donated various items for the silent auction; such as restaurant gift certificates, B&B weekend getaway, movie tickets, beauty products, and gift baskets for this heartwarming event. Each year, CSP’s CEO, Bill Riddick donates NC State Basketball game tickets, which has quickly become one of the hottest silent auction items. CSP, Inc. is located near NC State University and having tickets be a part of the silent action makes it very exciting for our local Wolfpack fans.
This year’s event raised over $2,500 and collected hundreds of new toys. All proceeds raised and donated toys are used to provide gifts to local children who are hospitalized during the Holiday Season at WakeMed Children’s Hospital and other local WakeMed locations.
